Anadama Bread Barbara Baylis 1/2 c. Yellow Indian meal 1/2 c. molasses 2 cups boiling water 1 cake yeast, dissolved in warm water 1 tsp. salt 5 c. flour 2 Tbsp. shortening Stir the meal slowly into the boiling water, mix thoroughly. Add salt, molasses and shortening. When lukewarm, add dissolved yeast and flour to make a stiff dough. Knead well; let rise in a warm place until double in bulk. Shape into two loaves, let rise again. Bake at 400 for 1 hour. (Barbara bakes it at 350-375 for not much over 45 minutes).
